About
I’m Dan. I design & make physical products. And I help build the brands and teams that launch them. I live in London & work globally.
Founder at Manufactured Design.
I strongly believe that the best products always start by setting out to solve a clear, simply articulated problem. Led by this philosophy and a deep appreciation of how to manufacture and market products, I aim to bring good, meaningful and useful design into the world.
I hold over eighteen years of experience in the design, development and delivery of consumer products. I studied Industrial Design & Technology at Loughborough University; worked as an Industrial Designer for ten years and was then a Senior Design Manager for Joseph Joseph for 4 years. I then worked with UK start-ups Beryl and Nolii to help bring their ambitions to life.
I have an in-depth understanding of the skill and workmanship that goes into making mass-produced products that delight users. I work with companies to craft products that will fulfil a well-identified opportunity and need and then look to ensure they can be created efficiently and with consideration to their impact and legacy.
Working in-house and as a consultant I’ve worked on an eclectic mix of products: children's toys and airline seating through to innovative homewares, LED lighting and more recently connected IoT devices and mobility. I’ve been fortunate to work with some truly visionary clients on incredible projects. I’ve also recruited, led and managed teams of my own and together our work has gone on to win awards.
